What a difference one letter makes. The terms OLED and QLED may look very similar but are two entirely different beasts. In our QLED vs. OLED battle, we compare Samsung’s best 4K LED TV for 2019, the Q90, with LG’s C9 OLED.
LG’s 2019 OLED TVs now offer A.I. ThinQ, which is powered by the Alpha 9 Gen 2 processor and add Amazon Alexa support. The C9 OLED TVs will start rolling out in April.
Samsung’s Q90 QLED for 2019 is the best 4K TV Samsung has ever made, packed with smart user-friendly features to make installation and use easy.
Samsung’s QLED line of TVs is a series coined by the company that means “quantum light emitting diode”. The branding is an attempt to distinguish this TV as Samsung’s most premium television and has the capacity to produce an image that’s brighter than an OLED TV.
With LG’s OLED TV, the image is produced by starting with perfect black. With true blacks being produced, it’s hard to beat the OLED in terms of picture quality. The color is spot on straight out of the box, and its motion is smoother than the QLED.

July 12, 2020Hell yes, re-upload! Sort of. Scrub to 8:20 and watch. Still have questions? I'll be around to answer them here in the comments. Give me a while, though, because I am about to take off for the day and may not be back on until tomorrow AM.

July 12, 2020You didn't mention the, in my case at least, biggest selling point of the C9; G-sync support with HDR. That is right: it meets the same criteria as if it was certified for G-sync Ultimate. This is an absolutely massive advantage that should not be glossed over, especially since mentioned that the Q90 has support for Freesync. A big mistake in my opinion! Playing games in 1440p 120hz with G-sync and HDR on the C9 is like a dream come true.

July 12, 2020Why am I watching this ? My room is too small for this TV size !! lol

July 12, 2020the price difference between LG and Samsung is so big that I choose a C9 because that's what my bank acount allowed to buy.
I'm not sure why people complain about OLED brightness. Don't you have daytime jobs? we work during the day and watch TV in the evening. brightness has never been a problem.

July 12, 2020Hope nobody bought the Samsung because the company could switch it off forever like my blue ray DVD

July 12, 2020What I'm really missing is the viewing angle, especially in the dark. I think OLED is being great in this! Qled less….

July 12, 2020Hey , I am planning to buy a new tv. I am confused between samsung q80r and lg oled c9. We would use our tv 10 hrs a day. 2hrs of cartoon, 1hr of news and 7hours of sports(mostly football). On football weekends, we would use like 10-12 hrs non stop. We dont do gaming much.plays fifa 20 on my ps4 occasionally.we would see movies may be daily or on alternate days..I understood that Oled tvs are superior but i am afraid of burn ins. I use tv 80% of time to watch football. So which tv should i choose? Would watching too much football cause burn ins? Sound clarity also a major factor.

July 12, 2020Do not pause the video on the OLED TV, it will burn in this way.

July 12, 2020Please if you can, you should also address the Prices in every opening because I think that makes sense. Prices should be in dollars so thhat we can convert them.

July 12, 2020The oled's are so dark compared to Qled's, it does not work for me in a bright room so i went for the Q90R 👍

July 12, 2020I mean ofc the OLED looks better, no doubt, but DAMN the Samsung does come very close for a QLED this is very impressing…

July 12, 2020Was it the placement of the TV or does the lg just pick up soo much glare in comparison to the Samsung

July 12, 2020LG has really been knocking it out of the park. I just switched from an Acer 4K 60hz to the Ultragear 27 2k 144hz and the performance and quality is night and day better than the Acer.

July 12, 2020I dont use voice search or any apps on my tv. Just useless fluff to me. For any streaming aps like Netflix I just use my playstation.

July 12, 20202:05 "We've got some very good vertical clearance here – just enough space to fit a Samsung soundbar. What a coincidence." LOL.

July 12, 2020Same thing, you won’t notice this stuff if you don’t have both tv’s side by side

July 12, 2020Seems a very honest review, being a b7 user hitted by (massive) burn in I'm gonna definitely watch for the samsung 90r

July 12, 2020I use the voice feature of our TCL tv instead of painfully typing it haha. I would say the voice recognition now is pretty accurate unlike before.

July 12, 2020Buy every tv u want samsung philips sony just dont bye lg please i bought 2 and they just burned after 5 yrs exactly when the warranty was over they have a problem with the screens and they burn and even if u fix it it will burn again in a year ask those who repair tv just dont buy lg

July 12, 2020Burn in and LG OLED start after 3-4 years. The best option if going for a LG TV is a 10 year warranty from the shop. I would strongly opt for a long warranty with both TVs. Without shop warranty you are on your own … Do not trust LG never ever
Alan
July 12, 2020Samsung better all the way I don't trust LG there phones are crappy so there tvs are to.

July 12, 2020Very brilliant equipment. I love to have one.

July 12, 2020A cheap VA LCD panel dressed up as something all new and high end costing thousands, seriously… yes talking to you reviewer you know and I know these overpriced Samsung panels are a fraud and doesn't match up to REAL high end panels, 1 HDMI 2.1 port? 😂😂😂 all that best cables made redundant as buyers of this will obviously have PS5, XBox Series X and probably a highend PC all wanting to be plugged into it using 120hz.
NOISYBOY
July 12, 2020I prefer these oled real black

July 12, 2020This is such a joke. An LG OLED picture can’t be touched. Period.
Steve Whiteman
July 12, 2020Hi, you mention the QLED has HDMI 2.1 features so I assume it will work great with PS5 and XSX with 4K 120? Also wondering if it has an app called Plex on it as my current LG has? Probably just LG TVs have it but thought I'd ask. I use it alot to stream videos from my computer to my TV and would hate to lose it if I upgrade. Would go for the OLED which I know has it but I'm concerned about burn in since I use my TV alot, not turning it off very much.

July 12, 2020So the lg cx is worse than the c9, will the c11 be better than the c9
