George Digweed goes the distance on pigeon-shooting. Some of his shots are out to 100 yards. Now, you don’t want to try this at home if you can;t shoot at distance, but here is how a 23-times world champion shooter does it.

Why shoot pigeons?
The woodpigeon is recognised as the UK’s number one agricultural pest and causes millions of pounds of damage (AHDB consultation 10-40% loss in yield. Equivalent loss of £125/ha for Oil Seed Rape, £250/ha for peas, £350-£1250/ha for brassicas) to agricultural crops every year including cereals, brassicas, oilseed rape, peas and salad crops. Pigeon damage reduces the yield, quality, appearance and ultimately the saleability of the crop. Pigeons can also cause damage in gardens and allotments – pecking at the leaves and ripping off portions, often leaving just the stalks and larger leaf veins. They may also attack and strip buds, leaves and fruits off trees and bushes.
The UK woodpigeon population was last estimated at 5.4 million pairs in 2009. Densities of wood pigeon are the highest in Eastern England, coinciding with the highest concentration of horticultural production.
Wild pigeon (game) is natural and free range, and it is one of the healthiest meats available today. It’s low in cholesterol and high in protein… and, quite simply, delicious.

Anyone knows the length o the barrel & chokes of George's Perazzi ?
I knock woodies at 85 yards plus but I use an external pattern master turkey choke on a 30'' barrel …. I shoot a winchesterSx2 …. I have 4 of them … great guns.

4.50 must be knee deep in plastic wads around there 🤦‍♂️ cattle and horses must be picking them out of their teeth all day long.
Superior shooting though….next week we’re trapping Dolphins and Hedgehogs using 6 pack beer can rings😉

32 grams of shot? I prefer 36 for long balling. But what do I know? I'm no Digweed. My idea of a long shot is 65 yards. #5 Shot is by far my favorite shot size for pigeons, squirrels and pheasants. 36 grams is a lot easier to say than "one and one quarter ounce".

Lol I remember shooting a bobwhite quail at 50 yards w/improved cylinder. My buddy said he would never have believed it if he had not seen it himself… I used to hunt with a guy who would shoot ducks flying so high they looked no bigger than a sparrow! He'd drop almost everything he shot at… I was shocked when he called a shot on a flock of geese stating second form the rear on left side he squeezed the trigger & down came the speckled bellied goose…

See the head?? People who calls themselves HUNTERS don't shoot at anything beyond 40-50 yards if they know anything about pellet-swarms and pellet-energy ! Totally inresponsible behavior.

100 yard pigeons? try patterning your gun at that range, you might get a decent pattern but it'll barely chip the paint off the plate.
trouble is people watch this and start wounding everything

Love everything especially George shooting. You guys ought to put a shotkam on for a long range episode like this. I'd love to see the lead he puts on a pigeon at 80 yards. Top notch show all the way.
